In many cases, you can make reservations from the U. S. "800" number for each company. There are also some strictly local companies. Rates are somewhat higher than comparable average U.S. prices. Daily rates for an economy car such as a Toyota Tercel will vary from around $25 daily in slow season to $38 or more at the height of the tourist season. Daily rental for a Lumina or similar vehicle will vary from $50 in offseason to $80 or more during turist season. Some shopping around is advisable. Some rental car companies might not rent you a vehicle unless you can present a valid credit card that will honor the deposit. When you use a major credit card to pay for the deposit on your rented car, generally the card covers some car insurance.
